Many people would argue your personality and your style go hand in hand, that they are almost one in the same, inseparable. And while trends and trappings come and go, at the core, you remain true to what moves you. You can evolve and expand, but you don’t really ever change, hence all the well known adages about not being able to change a person. And I have to say I agree with this overall concept, but I would argue, like with anything, there are always exceptions. But for right here, right now, I’m going to make it easy and just say yes.
I also believe if you understand what makes you tick, what gets you weak in the knees and what lights up your buzzer, and you surround yourself with all the things that evoke positive emotions, you are on track for a happier and healthier lifestyle. Because in my opinion, you can achieve a happier life if you are aware of the role your surrounding play each and every day. I mean think about it, how do you feel when you step into a room that just speaks to you? Or when you enter a space that you cannot wait to exit? It’s different for everyone because our personalities are just as unique as our styles and how we decorate is really just putting our personality on display front and center.
But let me ask you…do you believe the two truly are inherently linked, and would you agree that your style is reflection of your personality? Do you even know what your design style is? Or Maybe you need help defining yourself as well? Putting styles, tastes and preferences into words can be tricky business and difficult to say the least. But just because you don’t know your style or how to define it, that shouldn’t stop you from exploring and learning and giving it go. Decorating your space should be fun and if it isn’t, get some help, seek some advice or take a quiz (HINT HINT)!! Because if nothing else, your habitat should speak to you in a way that elevates you.
