I’m not entirely sure how it happened, but this little beauty just made its’ way into my life — and in 8-10 weeks, it will make its’ way into my living room!  Oh happy me!  Now, I’m hoping the 8-10 weeks is more of a worst case scenario as the one week we have now spent without a couch was about as enjoyable as a foot massage at the dentist’s office.  And when I say I’m not “entirely sure how it happened” what I really mean to say is I did a phenomenal job of making my husband believe he won our “couch quest” when indeed, I just got him to accept a crushed velvet navy blue mid-centuryesque couch into our home willingly.

Yup, I made it past the “approval” process so it’s smooth sailing from here on out — cause with a statement piece like that, what else could I possibly have to run by him that would cause an uproar.  Not that getting his approval has ever stopped me before but WE WILL HAVE A NAVY VELVET COUCH, I win!  And the best part is he has no idea he already said no to this exact couch once before, different color.  Ha!  It’s all about the presentation isn’t it ladies!  Best idea he’s had yet on the subject!  Oh, and I’ll be sure to post a pic come football season.  Beer in hand, navy velvet couch in living room.  The guys are going to swoon I ‘m sure.

But let me back up real quick in case you missed it.  While tackling Nicasa in just 3 weeks, I decided my sleep deprivation wasn’t quite intense enough so my husband and I jumped on an opportunity to have our old couch make another family very happy and in turn take on the living room re-do we’ve been tossing around for the past 6 months.  And I know I’ve said it before but our current situation was just about the best I could do with 2 buns in the oven and little to no focus on pretty much anything else.  I was just happy if I managed not to pee myself or find a comfortable sleeping position for more than 20 minutes at a time.  So I know it was much needed, none of our furniture really fit the space and in the end,  the room, which also doubles as our “dining room,” really didn’t allow for us to all to relax comfortably or to sit down and eat on a regular basis as a family.

So what did we do after we said see ya later alligator to our couch?  Before we even had an order confirmation for a new one giving us somewhere to sit?  We gave away our dining table and chairs.   And that leaves us with exactly zero couches to sit on and zero tables to eat at for anyone counting.  The room literally echoes, as tiny as it is, but the clean slate approach was my kick in the rear to get it in gear when not obsessing over Nicasa!

Enter my new dining table and chairs.  I. Am. So. So. Very. Happy!

And I’m just getting started, too!  An entire room, a navy couch, now we’re talking!  Watch me design my way out of this mess!
