This is always the hardest part of any project, waiting for all your goodies to arrive, the excitement of opening all the boxes combined with the slight anxiety of evaluating your purchases — I love it.  All of it.  Even the anxiety, because that’s where I’m forced to get creative, even if only in my minds eye and everything ends up better than expected in the end.  But if I have any doubts, the waiting game allows me to get my own game plan going, think of solutions to marrying styles, textiles, colors, you name it.  Waiting also allows me a chance to get all the prep work done, and there’s always more than you think before you can start on all the little details.

So, while I wait for all of Nic’s treasures to arrive I’ve been busy trying to get as much out of the way as possible.  But just so you can follow along I’ve put together this blueprint of where we are going with this vision of hers and the furnishings I’ve found to bring it to life.

Add in the key pieces we found at Home Goods —

and you get the idea!

Once of the pieces both Nic and I loved was the playful faux fur bench, but they all come with a hefty price tag.  So I dug out this old bench that I’ve had for years, no idea where it even came from, and decided to give it go with my own little DIY using faux fur from Ikea, my odd bench from storage, one of the benches I picked up at Home Goods and some metallic paint. Oh and a staple gun, so so fun!  And poof!  2 different fuzzy furry benches with one faux skin!
