The last thing I expected to be doing while making one of many trips to Target this week was whipping out my iphone and stepping tentatively over unpacked boxes and half full display shelves all while snapping photo after photo of unpacked product and immediately sending it to friends and family. But I simply had to. It’s here, it’s finally here, the much anticipated home collection from Target which has been written and blogged about for months now — even teased and sneekpeeked for us in a recent Instagram posts from my favorite celeb stylist/designer and reigning girl crush, Emily Henderson, Target’s Style Ambassador. So when I saw it roll by me in another shopper’s cart, I instantly knew what was around the corner.
Maneuvering around the light construction and curious staff, I started snapping away and frame by frame the collection’s overall aesthetic was immediately evident. Target has gone mad for plaid this season. On the shelves now are the new Threshold items which will blend seamlessly with the new Adam Lippes collection which is set to be available on September 27th.
I know it’s hot, really really stinkin hot, and looking at plaid might even make you sweat a little, but I promise you, you’ll kick yourself later when everyone else scoops up the plaid before you do! And then you will be more than sad — so go buy some plaid already! Just maybe tuck it in a drawer or hide it in a closet until you’re ready to embrace the tartan along with the rest of fall’s finds.
